The EOS 650 was a success for Canon, the camera sold well with its claimed incomparable autofocusing. Canon launched a high number of EF autofocus lenses for the 650 making it a very widely used SLR.

Fun fact: An EOS 650 was used in 1992 to take the first photographic image that was uploaded on the World Wide Web.
